It was cruel, and it was wrong!
Hello feels, how kind of you to drop by. ._.
I was so proud of him during this scene. He’s done one of the hardest things an abused child can do: understand that he didn’t deserve it.
Ugh, Zuko is my number one favorite Avatar character, and always will be. I always think back to his childhood and think, why didn’t you fight back? Especially once I found out Azula was 2 years younger than him. But I have to remember it’s because of all the abuse that ran through that family! The assimilation was by far the most horrifying aspect of ATLA, but Zuko actually broke through it. He woke up and was finally able to form his own opinions and realize his values and understand that everything he went through wasn’t deserved, but that he could learn from it anyway.
Are you watching Korra? Mako? It really isn’t that hard.
Well, it’s just one person. Korra and Mako are usually being ambushed. In the dark. By dozens of trained adults.
haha nope, just two. One for each of them 8D
I mean really, it’s like they’re not even trying!! D:
Alternately though, I think this really shows how the giant leaps in societal growth stamps out the need for experience and training that was imperative 70 years ago. And now everybender’s caught with their pants down, because these guys? They’re masters at their trade, not just learning enough to get by like I believe most benders of RC have settled for.
Korra, Mako, Bolin- they’re not masters at bending. Far from it! And on top of that they’ve adopted this street style of bending that, sure, is good for a scuffle or two, but really dumbs down the fundementals and energy of their bending origins.
Gosh, and just think of how that reflects in our world today! With technology that does the work for us, entertainment that stunts us, a society that baby’s us until we’re adults and then pushes us out into a world we’ve heard about but never expirenced!
AVATAR! HOW ARE YOU GREAT? I FRICKIN LOVE THIS SHOW DDD: All of my feels…..
